Ebbw Vale War Memorial refurbished by J.H. Wagner & Sons.
A major refurbishment project saw the sandstone and marble Ebbw Vale War Memorial dismantled, refurbished and repaired by J.H. Wagner & Sons. The monument was then re-erected onto a new footing and exfoliated granite paving was added to the perimeter of the monument. Unfortunately extensive vandalism of the Digger Statue resulted in the replacement of the statue in 2008 with the new Sandstone statue hand carved and detailed by J.H. Wagner & Sons to replicate the original statue. The original statue has since been patched for historical display at the local RSL.
