The Charleville War Memorial has long been an important location for the Charleville community to gather and pay tribute to the bravery of those who have served Australia and in particular those who volunteered to serve in World War One. 

The respect and honour of Charleville's service to Australia remains paramount and in 2010 carved Yellow Granite 'Aussie Diggers' ~ The Australian Soldier, were commissioned from J.H. Wagner & Sons to be placed in sentry positions to the Memorial.  Each 'Aussie Digger' has been carved in the 'reflective' position of head inclined and hands crossed over the rifle butt with the rifle barrell resting to the ground.  Eight 'Aussie Diggers' and thirteen Yellow granite bollards now define an area of remembrance.
