Did you know?

Marble headstones and panels were used in all forms of monumental works for high quality finish and although granite has now taken the place of many marble memorials due to it's hardness, superior durability and lower cost the supply of Carrara Marble is still possible from J.H. Wagner & Sons.

Marble panels and headstones mostly have lead letters which are completed by sandblasting an incised letter into the marble, drilling small anchor holes into the back of the letter incision and then hammering lead pieces into the indent before finally trimming and finishing to the surface.  Lead letters will be grey in appearance when new and as they age will appear darker grey/ black in colour.
