Processing and installation of Brisbane Porphyry by J.H. Wagner & Sons for the People's Place Parkland, Brisbane.
All Porphyry walling was processed from boulder pieces reclaimed from site. Brisbane Porphyry is a hard stone and the lack of dimensional raw block added hours to sawing time for the set-up and table fixing or irregular boulder pieces.
The Porphyry Irregular Colonial Walling (see below) has a split face finish, where as the Ashlar Pattern walling stones have a 'Rockfaced' front face achieved by splitting the stone and then hand chiselling the edges to creat the protruding 'Rock' face. Porphyry Crazy Paving is all diamond sawn.
